I’m making a stupid simple dress with what I thought were insignificant modifications - for my daughter who lives 17 min away - even bought a mannequin - trashed bodice #15 - getting ready to cut #16 - with a fitting after each modification- costing more in gas than the silk fashion fabric. Move the darts, mess the arm holes, fix that and look atAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6739674824882439487.post-163761586073313672017-06-28T21:59:21.409+02:002017-06-28T21:59:21.409+02:00This is amazing! For some reason the armholes were way too small even though the fba wasn't supposed to affect that. Maybe I'll try one of these methods. Thanks! I'd add one version with similar result to the Marcy Tilton as you describe it (i.e. gets rid of gape at armhole but doesn't add more bust width). I think in this link, the pattern ease is being taken up by a full bust. Still not sure which FBA I wil try, but your post helps so much to think through this various choices! http://www.burdastyle.com/techniquesRachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03406702652714125522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6739674824882439487.post-68506115260874471872013-06-11T20:47:07.656+02:002013-06-11T20:47:07.656+02:00I love this review! I think in FFRP they leave it up to you to decide wether to remove the additional width in the waist/hips by creating/adjusting a vertical dart. They do explain it as the final step of the FBA IIRC.hildehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15358322266912378847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6739674824882439487.post-89175617745447788692010-03-18T20:28:30.253+02:002010-03-18T20:28:30.253+02:00I'm amazed by the amount of work and effort - ...I'm amazed by the amount of work and effort - and skill! - you've put into these different adjustment methods. I have the PP book and have read it (I also have the Full Bust CD) and it looks like a complicated method to figure out, though once you've got it you've got it. (I actually have bought the McCall's fit pattern that PP recommends you use as your sample garment. K.Linehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15350615302797686048noreply@blogger.com
