New projects

In the last week, I completed the linen shirt, my daughter's flannel pajamas and my sewing machine cover. Now I'm ready for some new things!

No. 1 is a baby quilt for my aunt's second granddaughter in New Zealand. I made a pretty quilt for her older sister when she was a baby, and now it's the little one's turn. I bought the fabrics yesterday.

The quilt design will be very simple - just chequerboard blocks of the print and the green fabric, with appliqued hearts of the three plain colours, and a few borders. I hope to finish the piecing quickly and then to have more time to indulge on the machine quilting.

I also bought four new patterns for clothes for myself (all on sale!) The first is Simplicity 8990, a fitted shirt with FBA done already. Simplicity 3880 is a relaxed pair of long pants with lots of pocket and zip details.

The third and fourth are knit patterns - one (Burda 8699) for a camisole and top which buttons down the front (I always think of that as a bust-minimizing detail!), the other for a plain short t-shirt (Simplicity 4041).
