I bought myself a pair of applique scissors yesterday at my local Bernina shop. They only had one kind so I just trusted that they would be reasonably good. Much to my surprise (and delight!) when I took them out of the packet later, I discovered that the brand was Gingher! Didn't think that I would ever be part of the select group that owns Gingher scissors. I don't know if this was very old stock or whether they were labelled incorrectly, because I paid only R80 - less than 10 US dollars! My lucky day perhaps?
The panties I was working on yesterday unfortunately didn't have any fabric to trim from the elastic, as I was encasing the elastic in the fabric for a change. It does work like a dream for trimming off stray threads - very close to the fabric and without having to worry about cutting into the fabric.
